Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine shop hiring just four people. Overall sales for that particular year amounted to about $60,000. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and various components. Throughout five years of operation, the business had expanded to forty employees and their annual sales volume had increased to $330,000. Today, Cascade is one of the leading worldwide manufacturers within the material handling business.
Design and manufacturing of the company's first hydraulic cylinder allowed this new company to aggressively engage in better business possibilities. Throughout the final sixty years, the trade of material handling has developed into a very complex area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its development. Cascade at present continues to grow as the best provider of forklift accessories and various associated items. The company feels assured in their capability in order to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the international market.
During the 1950's, Cascade began to fabricate, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was built in 1956, to be able to house all plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which continues to be the company's current head office. Following 15 years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached almost 2.3 million dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio a second production plant was built. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry while the business established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Afterward in 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade merchandise are fabricated globally because of lots of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 subsequent to buying 5 firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the global best in forks.
